During a press conference Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has informed that the Istanbul Convention will be sent to the Constitutional Tribunal and that Poland has launched international cooperation in order to adopt the Convention on the Protection of the Rights of Families.
– We have initiated a cooperation across borders. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was given a clear task to cooperate with other states in order to come up with such provisions that will be devoid of any content raising any outlook doubts stemming from the revolution of the morals that some want to impose on us and at the same time will be a common denominator of a few, a dozen or several dozen states aiming at protecting the victims of domestic violence – said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during a press conference at the Prime Minister’s Office.
A moment later the following news was published on Twitter account of Paweł Jabłoński, the Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs saying that the work has started.
"Following the instructions of Prime Minister @MorawieckiM we have launched at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs @MSZ_RP diplomatic efforts in order to adopt an international agreement – convention on the protection of the rights of families. This is one of the fundamental rights that deserves full protection, also in the international law" – says the twit.
